New In Distro : NOI!SE - The Real Enemey

From Soundrennaissance :
When their time isn’t devoted to the Army and family, Noi!se pour their heart and soul into their authentic delivery of catchy streetpunk. The Tacoma Washington’s punk quartet is back with their new album The Real Enemy, a follow up to 2014’s The Scars We Hide.
The album opens with the wailing sound of melodic lead guitars on “Passing Time,” and Noi!se couldn’t have picked a more suitable opening track. The song builds up into an explosion of hard-hitting rhythm guitars and abrasive vocals. The band combines melodic with anthemic on this track. Similarly, “Dull The Pain,” “Sea of Apathy,” “End of Days,” and “The Show” share the same fist-pumping energy and soulfulness.
The Real Enemy has more of a live sound in comparison to Noi!se’s earlier releases. The overall mix seems to place less emphasis on the vocals, but you can hear Al Barr (Dropkick Murphys, The Bruisers) come in with his raspy growl on much of the album. On the second track “Take It Back,” Gordy Carbone (The Forgotten) chimes in on the second verse. Noi!se even get some help from The Interrupters’ lead vocalist, Aimee Interrupter, on “The War Inside.”
Streetpunk is one of the most sincere subgenres of punk. Listen to any well known song and you will hear unforgettable fist-pumping sing-alongs laden with gang vocals. “SPD” is one of those songs. It’s short and intense, clocking in at only a minute and twenty-four seconds, but I can picture a crowd of punks and skins raising their fists and piling up to the microphone.
Overall, The Real Enemy is a solid punk album. While the vocals may be low on the mix, Noi!se captures true substance and vigor. If you’re a fan of bands like Cock Sparrer, Pinkerton Thugs, or early Dropkick Murphys, you should familiarize yourself with Noi!se.

New In Distro : RED ALERT - The Oi! Singles 1980-1983 Lp

North East of England outfit Red Alert originally formed in their native Sunderland in early 1979 with a line up of Steve Smith on vocals, Tony Van Frater on guitar, Gaz Stuart on bass, Kid Stocker on guitar and Mitch filling the drum stool. It was this version of Red Alert that recorded the legendary “Third and Final” EP (sometimes know as “Border Guards”), which was released on their own label in the summer of 1980 with all 250 sleeves actually glued together by the band themselves! Leading Punk label No Future Records picked up on the band (who by now had Nobby on drums and slimmed to a four piece with the departure of Kid Stocker to Red London) and their first release for the label was the legendary “In Britain” EP which shot to the top of the then important Independent Chart. Incidentally the two demos featured on this release, “S.P.G.” and “I Tore Your Picture Up”, were actually recorded at the same sessions as “In Britain” but, until now, had remained unreleased. A second Indie Chart hit came via mid 82’s “Take no prisoners” EP and they became a leading live attraction following gigs with the likes of The Business, Blitz, The Partisans and Peter & The Test Tube Babies. The “City Invasion” 7” preceded the release of Red Alert’s debut album “We’ve got the power” which, in true Punk value for money style, contained none of the bands singles releases and a different version of “S.P.G.” from that which had appeared on the legendary “Carry on Oi!” LP. A top 5 Indie Album Chart entry, the LP was followed by the six track 12” “There’s a guitar burning” thought this turned out to be the bands last release for No Future as the label folded in early ’84. Common People Records reissue in a 12” all the singles (plus the 12” “There’s a guitar burning”) of their first years (1980-1983). Singles are “Third and Final”, “In Britain”, “Take no prisoners” and “City Invasion”, as well “There’s a guitar burning” 12”.

Out Now : COMBATANT - Psychosis Ep

About 28 years ago, one of my friends neighbors gave me a copy of Agnostic Front's Victim In Pain Lp. We can not say that this record changed my life but somewhere he contributed. Last year a young band from Maine (USA) released a fantastic demo that can only remind this album. Here is their second effort "Psychosis Ep" again recorded by Ryan Abbott at the Side Two Studio.

New In Distro : COUPE GORGE & THE HAMMER - Split Tape

COUPE GORGE is part of the new wave of french bands bringing hardcore/punk/oi music sang in french back, along with Syndrome 81, Rixe and alike. CG goes with some raw Negative Approach influenced tracks ‘en Français’ like the band’s anthem “Coupe Gorge”, “Guerre Civile” and “La Nuit” in the mix with thumping French Oi!/streetpunk jams like “Haine” and “Violence”.
The HAMMER is a 4 piece hardcore band from Gotenbörg, Sweden. Their first 7″ No Escape blew me away the very first time I listened to it, so I put out their new 6 track 7". Now they are back with 3 new tracks from the "Vermin 7" sessions". If you are into The Flex, Right Brigade, Think I Care or 86 Mentality you HAVE TO check them out.

New In Distro : THE WAR GOES ON - St LP

NEW DARK AGE BLOG The record that has been in the works for more than four years from these K-town degenerates is now ready. We are proud to present the dark and rough reality that is THE WAR GOES ON. Made up of people responsible for bands like NO HOPE FOR THE KIDS, HJERTESTOP, and many more K-town classic hardcore bands. This record sees singer Ronni Dybdahl delve further into the depths of darkness and gloom than ever before, and come back with an anthemic hard pounding street punk record that somehow blurs the lines between Oi!, Punk, and Hardcore....

New In Distro : NEU-RONZ - St Ep

Great EP by a to me more or less unknown Swedish band. How on earth did this escape my attention? No clue, but it's hardcore at it's best. It kinda reminds me of spanish hardcore beasts Glam, well... Except the vocals. They are more in some Umeå'ish direction. Yet there's so much more to it check it out...

New In Distro : GLORIOUS? - Who Are They To Impose Restrictions

From Sorry State : Debut 12" from this band out of Malmö. Playing straight-on d-beat, Glorious? actually have a pretty interesting sound that combines a few different elements of the Discharge template, kind of melding different elements from throughout Discharge's discography. The double-tracked vocals sound almost exactly like Realities of War, but the music is both heavier a la Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing and riff-ier and more metallic a la Why? or even early Broken Bones. It's almost kind of a shame that Glorious? sound so much like Discharge in places, because they strike me as much more than a simple d-beat band... these songs are dense, complex, and dynamic, far more than just Discharge riffs copied and slightly rearranged. Though the overall vibe is a bit different, they have a Totalitär-esque way of making fairly straightforward riffs seem weighty and important. A year or so ago I would have told you that d-beta was the deadest of horses, but between bands like Glorious? and Paranoid the genre feels totally revivified. Definitely recommended!

RESTOCK : TRAITRE - Humain En Vue

From American Oi :
Fans of Northern-France outfit Traitre will sure get their kicks this month with the release of not one, but two brand new seven inch records! The first of the two to come out is the two-track 45 “Humain En Vue” b/w “Un Pays À Détruire” on French hardcore-punk label Build Me A Bomb Records, who you might (but probably don’t) know of releases by Thrashington D.C., Youth Avoiders and Short Days.

Anyways, besides the usual suspects we all love, Traitre is quickly becoming one of my favorites out of the country where pain still means bread. Although their sound is not unique or anything, know it all’s can probably name-drop ten alike-sounding bands, their style has a certain flair and unconstrained feel to it, as if the superb melodies just fly out of their amps automatically. Just listen to the A-side of this single, “Humain En Vue”, and see if you understand what I mean, definitely one of their best songs to date!

Same can be said about the B-side. Despite it being a cover, “Un Pays À Défendre” by L’Infanterie Sauvage, the original version never passed the demo phase and Traitre’s take, with a subtle title change to “Un Pays À Détruire”, is sublime! Magnifique from front to back, this slab of wax is an absolute must-hear for fans of French Oi!-punk!

RESTOCK : SYNDROME 81 - La Rouille Du Quotidient

From American Oi :
After debuting with Short Days back in 2013, followed up earlier this year with a Traitre 7”, Syndrome 81’s latest 45 is now the third installment in Build Me A Bomb Records’ “Single Round”-series. The idea of this series is plain, simple, minimalistic and so far, pure gold! And with Syndrome 81 up next I don’t see a downgrade to silver, bronze, or worse, any time soon!
Because if something as a ‘band-crush’ would exist, I’d have this crush on Syndrome 81! It almost seems impossible for the boys from Brest (yup, even during this review that is still in France) to record, or at least release, something that doesn’t kick you in the teeth with pure brilliance! You might have guessed by my tone of writing already, but this ‘45 tours de punk-rock Français’ is no exception!
The recipe is similar as their demo, the “Désert Urbain” EP or their split 7” with Litovsk, but just as you thought that they were on top of their game... Syndrome 81 crushes their previous efforts with cleverly inventive guitar work, producing sublime melodies. Perhaps a simple task for someone who can actually hold and play the guitar, but for someone who led an instrumental-free life, like me, the second half of “La Rouille Du Quotidien” is just pure punkrock heaven!
Despite all of the above, “Pulsions Électriques” is quite a shocker (pun intended) though! Experimental to say the least, the electric pulsations of the track stand in complete contrast with the flipside,  delivering a song completely in a new / dark / cold (whatever it is called) wave style. Odd, brave and definitely not bad, post-punk depression always lured through Syndrome 81’s sound, they just took the Joy Division influences to the next level for this side of the 45.

New In Distro : LOST LEGION demo tape / BRICK ASSASSIN 12" / ROGUE TROOPER - Boots on the Ground 7"

LOST LEGION - demo tape
A couple of idiots playing music drunk for no reason. Two tracks leaked last year (to be released soon on 'Oi! the Tape' on Crowd Control Media) that set the hype machine in motion.
This tape includes four new tracks that riff less on the Templars and Boot Party vein of the earlier songs and veers more towards the style of Chiswick punk, Condemned 84, and Ultima Thule. Oi! music of the future must certainly be the Oi! music of the past.

BRICK ASSASSIN 12"
Chicago's Midway neighborhood hosts an airport and hundred's of locked cells for the working-class communities doing time on Chicago's south side. Brick Assassin come from Midway, a band of resilient goons growing up big and ugly, raised on a diet of industrial slime nuclear-green hot dog relish in a dense smog of dying industries. After a well-received debut 7" and a split 7" with Minneapolis's Victory, Brick Assassin have weathered various storms but have come back stronger than before, surviving line-up changes and label shifts. Their new LP is a series of complaints about union bosses, Nazi skins, and trying to feed a family in while the atmosphere smothers your lungs. Midway Mutant Crew.

ROGUE TROOPER - Boots on the Ground 7"
Massachusetts has a rich history of bad decisions, from witch trials to the recent influx of opioid addiction. It's easy to think that kids probably don't have to try too hard to find trouble, but I guess dumbing yourself down with religion or drugs doesn't work for everyone and some kids need a different cult to join. It's this gap where Amherst's Rogue Trooper found their home, running hard in the other direction of their peers but still staunchly staking their claim as Bay Staters; they're the younger brother that'll never live up to the potential you see in them.
Their music flexes an American muscle hard and you can hear the influence from the early Bruisers singles, Uprise comp-tracks, and the more garage-y cuts from the Wretched Ones records, but there's still a bit of that English influence from the Hammer Records catalog and that lends the band a little more melody than the founding fathers of American Oi. Their demo last year was the best new Oi recording I'd heard in quite some time and this 7" blows it away.

New In Distro - G.L.O.S.S / VAASKA/ ARM RACE / SEPTIC DEATH / S.S.D

G.L.O.S.S - Trans Day of Revenge

The second EP from the queer hardcore punk band G.L.O.S.S. conveys a violent and severe world, one in which the only reasonable and intelligent responses are anger and aggression.

VAASKA - Futuro Primitivo

Rejoice, VAASKA have returned with more hard punk pounders for the masses! Originally pressed in a limited amount by VOX POPULI for the band's Japanese tour in the winter of 2016, Beach Impediment is delighted to make the latest release from Austin's finest available domestically for the hardcore punk fanatics that know the real deal and for those that would like to become more educated in the field. "FUTURO PRIMITIVO" features five tracks of the top notch D-Beat punk with blazing guitar leads and ferociously belted out lyrics in Spanish that you have come to expect from these guys over the years. Each record comes in a felt based glue pocket sleeve adorned with the stark black and white art of the great Brian Miller that has been the band's visual trademark since the beginning.

ARM RACE - New Wave Of British Hardcore LP

ARMS RACE unleash their debut album after a well-received 6-track demo in 2013 and a 6-track 7" EP in 2014 on Quality Control HQ and Painkiller. Arms Race arrived on the scene fully formed with their powerful and gnarly UK-meets-USA hardcore: their signature sound of a vocalist chewing on glass is backed by one of the most solid rhythm sections in HC these days, and the guitar work adds a metallic element making the whole sound gigantic while keeping the ugliness and aggression to the max. NWOBHC is a statement of no-frills hardcore that is not scared to reach out to different corners of the punk and metal world.
New Wave Of British Hardcore was recorded by James Atkinson at Mutiny Studios and sounds bright and powerful. It comes housed in a sleeve designed by Andrew Fletcher with extra artwork by Nicky Rat who doubles as bass player. There is a download code, and a poster insert.

SEPTIC DEATH - Need So Much Attention

Limited green-marbled vinyl! The first Septic Death release (1984) is also the very first Pusmort release and showcased a great collection of art. The front cover by Pushead, the back cover by Chet 'XNO' Darmstaedter. Septic Death (Boise, Idaho) was a hardcore punk band fronted by artist Brian "Pushead" Schroeder on vocals. Septic Death's music became a major influence on bands like Integrity, Citizens Arrest, Infest, and many other bands tied to the hardcore punk, thrashcore, crust punk etc. scenes. The band played only a few shows during its active years (1981 to 1986), mostly in Boise, Idaho. Tracklist: Sweat Of A Nightmare Core Of Reality Quit Child Mental Cancer Gore Story Control Advantage Never Trust Fear Hardware Negative Threat

S.S.DECONTROL - The Kids Will Have Their Say

SS Decontrol (a.k.a. SSD) were "one of the first Boston hardcore bands and the core of the infamous "Boston Crew and the "narrow minds who think the narrow way"(mentioned in the liner notes to This is Boston Not LA of Modern Method Records). Their hardcore testament were The Kids Will Have Their Say 12"(1982, XClaim!/Dischord Rec.s), and Get it away LP (1983, XClaim!), then the change of their name to SSD brought some changes to the straight edge beliefs of band members and music wise they walked a new music direction. 2015 press on Suicida Records

New In Distro : KOMINTERN SECT - D'une Même Voix

From Oi Of America Blog
I have not been this anxious and nervous for what a record was going to hold since..... Fuck, I don't even remember. well over 25 years ago Komintern Sect was one of the bands that introduced me to French Oi! / Punk and even more then that, they opened me up to a world of bands and sounds. Even though I did not understand a fucking word they said It was the bands energy and attitude that translated their songs in to my heart and soul. I also have to say their early records turned me on to the raw lo-fi sound that a lot of foreign bands and some note worthy bands from the good ol' U.S.A. would be influenced by.

So the question that loomed over me is what was this record that I wanted so bad was going to sound like? I was nervous because it has been 30 years since their last record? Fucking killer is the answer to that question! A few things stuck out to me the first time I listen to this record. First: The production quality is far superior to the bands other records and this will spread their sound to those who need a cleaner production quality. This cranked up production does not take away from the bands power or their def use of melody, it just enhances it.
Second: You hear Louis from Lions Law guitar style and I love how it works with the rhythm section and Carl's still power packed vocals.
Third: And maybe the most pleasant surprise, is this record does not miss a step in the quality of the song writing or in the delivery of these songs. The bands classic sound is fully intact. Take the use of haunting choruses and melodic guitar solo's that ache and bend in to your soul are on the amazing "Unite".

I do not care if you hate foreign language Oi! you need to listen to this record if not for any other reason then to hear were so many bands of yesterday and today were influenced. The album has five new, original songs and finishes with a cover "Pour La Gloire" originally done by Camera Silens. Benoit from Camera Silens plays guitar on this song. Komintern Sect pays homage to another French band with this standout cover. There is not a single miss step on this record. All Killer and no filler comes to mind when I think about how to describe this album. I keep listening to this record over and over and all I am left with is wanting more.

New in distro - THE CONEHEADS - LP#1

THE CONEHEADS - LP#1

The NWI scene is on another level to the rest of humanity. Oh yes, it's going to get weird once you put this shit on. Coneheads are a basement punk band who have decided to douse themselves in creepy circus riffs, robot meets alien vocals with science-fiction wackyness. Keep in mind, it's still punk and damn catchy! Who said weird can't be catchy?

They sound like DOW JONES AND THE INDUSTRIALS on speed or a more manic DEVO. This would perfectly fit in 1982 but I doubt they were born before 92. Major points for historical awareness! The rhythm barrels along while solos are interspersed at six second intervals, desperately played like a blur between a Jerry Lee Richard piano solo and a fevered banjo picker who lives in an Appalachian cave.

It's hard to find the line between cheap gimmick and true weirdness sometimes, but this one shows that line with every spin. This band is highly addictive and leaves you stunned!

This is the French pressing of the DEAD HERO demo tape. DEAD HERO is a female-fronted punk rock oi band with members of SECTA SUICIDA from Bogota, Colombia. Think classic punk and oi like THE EXPELLED, ONE WAY SYSTEM, and THE LAST RESORT with their own Colombian twist. Great stuff.

NO TIME - You'll Get Yours LP

Pittsburgh's NO TIME are back with a follow up full length to their debut 7"

on SFU. YOU'LL GET YOURS features 11 new songs in the Oi/Hardcore vein done with perfection. This is one of the best LPs I've heard in a while.

SHORT DAYS - Bleak City Ep

Another great record from theses punk from Lille

Great songs in the best melodic punk, mastered by North London Bomb Factory , a sign of quality.

MUNDO MUERTO - Entre El Kaos LP - 10€

Mundo Muerto comes from California and delivers catchy, up-tempo hardcore punk. They have released a tape and two 7'' and this is their first lp with eleven dynamite punk hymns. Fast, tight, somewhere between the usual latino hardcore of the california scene and the spanish punk of the 80's, something like modern Eskorbuto, or something like Appendix flerting with Peligro social. Nice distorted guitars without being noisy, the vocals are great, just what you want to go on with your filthy life. Sounds like being recorded especially for gigs. I can imagine dozen of punks attack the singer only to shout some words on the mic. I can see "Ciegos al poder" or "Dias oskuros" be on your next car cd compilation. Ace...

RIXE - Les Nerfs A Vif In distro

Just over a year since the release of the much loved debut 7" 'Coups Et Blessures', RIXE return with another four tracker on La Vida Es Un Mus. RIXE have gone from total obscurity to headlining festivals and gigs in Canada, North America and England and these four new tracks are a clear reason why. Standout 'Hexagone' opens the EP sounding like 'New Age' era BLITZ with extra bite and bile, 'A Contre-Courant' follows with a stomping primitive bass and drum attack before the razor sharp guitar work and growling vocals come in. On the flip the venom and intensity continues with 'Rapport de force' before the self titled track 'Rixe' ends this latest Oi! attack with a track that starts like a late 70's UK SUBS hit before heading into classic 80's French Oi!. RIXE are special and these four tracks show more reasons why.
